The second meeting of the ITU/WHO’s Focus Group on AI for Health (FG-AI4H) was held at Columbia University, New York, from Nov 14 -16, 2018.
The aim of the workshop was to answer how artificial intelligence can be used to address global healthcare challenges, and how it can be used to assist in diagnostics and medical decision making. It assembled a panel of experts to discuss practical use cases and best practices in using AI for Health, and covered different medical domains, such as radiology and ophthalmology. The various talks and presentations were followed by questions and discussions among the experts and audience.
Arun Shroff, Founder/CEO of Xtend.AI was an invited speaker at the event and presented Xtend.AI’s solution to use AI for early detection of diabetic retinopathy and discussed the various challenges faced in using AI for health, as part of Session 2: Applications and Use Cases for AI in Health.
